About
Meet LaKeesha Brown, MS, LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor & Founder of REAL, LLC
LaKeesha is a licensed therapist, infant mental health specialist, and doula based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Her work is grounded in the belief that healing happens in relationship — and that the earliest experiences of our lives shape everything that follows.
LaKeesha founded REAL, LLC dedicated to creating a space where clients feel seen, heard, supported, and comfortable being themselves. Her approach to therapy is warm, relatable, and down-to-earth while still providing the structure, clinical support, and accountability needed to create meaningful change. Whether she is sitting with a child working through big emotions, supporting a new parent in the tender postpartum season, or consulting with an early childhood program, I bring the same steady, compassionate presence to every encounter.
LaKeesha is deeply committed to serving children, families, and communities that have historically been underserved — and to making high-quality mental health support accessible, affirming, and real. In addition to individual therapy, LaKeesha provides infant and early childhood mental health consultation, and REAL, LLC is a services provider for Wisconsin's Children's Long-Term Support (CLTS) program.

My Approach
Every aspect of how I work flows from a few core beliefs.
Relationship is the foundation
Healing doesn't happen in isolation. Whether I'm working with a child, a parent, or an organization, I prioritize building a relationship rooted in trust, safety, and genuine care.
Every story deserves to be honored
I approach each person with deep respect for their lived experience, cultural identity, and the unique strengths they bring. There is no one-size-fits-all path to healing.
Early experiences matter profoundly
The first years of life — and the relationships formed within them — lay the groundwork for lifelong wellbeing. I am passionate about supporting children and families at this critical window.
Evidence and heart belong together
I draw on the best available research and clinical frameworks while never losing sight of the human being in front of me. Good therapy is both rigorous and deeply personal.
